Occasional Pain in Tooth That Has
Crown
Even if you’ve tackled a damaged tooth by crowning it –
you’re still going to endure a bit of pain for at least a week
or two.
Occasional pain (in tooth that has
crown) is usually not anything to worry about,
but if it is persistent you should talk to your dentist
immediately.
A tooth that has recently been crowned will be extra tender
– there is no way around it. While the pain certainly isn’t
severe, you may want to consider a pain reliever like ibuprofen
to get your mind off of it.
This occasional
pain (in tooth that has crown) will go away after a few weeks.
But if it doesn’t, that means your tooth is doing more than
simply adjusting to the crown and you might have a problem.
If the crown is too heavy on your tooth, the occasional pain
(in tooth that has crown) may be an indicator that you will
need a lighter crown to replace the one you are wearing now. As
well, the crown may not be the right size! One size does not
fit all, as far as tooth crowns go. So if you’re feeling aches
and pains that just don’t seem like a natural part of the
healing process, talk to your dentist about it.
Likely though, you are just experiencing normal, occasional
pain (in tooth that has crown). Your tooth’s nerve is just
taking its sweet time healing. Be patient and invest in a pain
reliever and you will be in good shape in no time.
