Natural Cures for Toothache Pain

It’s hard to believe that the throbbing, unnerving pain of a toothache doesn’t require serious pain medication. Instead, there are dozens of natural cures for toothache pain that not only will send you instant relief but also contribute to the healing process.

So, before you rely on those over-the-counter pain killers like Tylenol, consider these natural cures for toothache pain.

The most obvious way to naturally alleviate your toothache is with ice! Applying a cold ice pack to your face will numb the pain and also prevent swelling. Do not keep the ice on for more than 20 minutes at a time though. You can even place an ice cube directly onto the sore tooth.

Clove oil is one of the most popular natural cures for toothache pain. If you don’t have any clove oil on hand, you can always blend up some whole cloves and mix them with olive oil to form a paste. As well, chewing a garlic clove every morning is helpful. Plenty of organic products are out there and you’re sure to find all sorts of herbs in your kitchen, like pepper and salt, that all relieve toothaches.

A fun tip is to chew an onion! An onion may make you cry when you’re cooking, but if you chew a raw onion for 3 minutes, you can kill germs that cause cavities and the like and thus prevent crying over a toothache in the first place!

Lastly, other natural cures for toothache pain involve just a simple massage – but not on or around the aching tooth. If you feel pain on the right side of your mouth, gently rub your right earlobe or your right hand (in between your forefinger and thumb). Similarly, if your toothache is on the left side of your mouth, massage your left earlobe or left hand. This is a surprising tip but it works! Massaging pressure points on your body can alleviate toothache pain.

If you want to investigate other natural cures for toothache pain (and there are many), it is recommended that you can research the various organic oils and treatments available to you.
