Curing a Toothache Pain
If you experience a throbbing pain in or around one of your
teeth, you might have a cavity or other problems like gum
disease.
But before you investigate the
cause of this aggravating ache, you’ll want to find quick
remedies for curing a toothache pain.
And then you’ll want to contact your dentist right away!
Fortunately, there are many things you can do at home to
sooth the agonizing pain of a toothache.
Ice is just what the doctor ordered for curing a toothache
pain. Applying a cold ice pack over the area of pain will
provide immediate relief and also help stop any swelling that
might result.
Press the ice against the
tender spot for 20 minutes at a time.
As well, curing a toothache pain sometimes only requires a
helping hand. There are very precise pressure points all over
your body and once you’ve determined where they are, you can
cure all sorts of aches and pains. For curing a toothache pain,
massage your earlobe or the area between your forefinger and
thumb! If the right side of your mouth is hurting, then rub
your right earlobe and right hand. If the left side of your
mouth is hurting, rub your left earlobe and left hand. After
just 10 minutes of this, you will begin to feel relief!
A more typical way of curing a toothache pain is to simply
glance into your medicine cabinet and see if you have any
medications containing acetaminophen (like Tylenol), ibuprofen
(Advil), naproxen (Aleve), ketoprofen (Actron), or aspirin.
Regarding aspirin however, no one under 20 should take it as
there is a risk of Reye’s syndrome. Generally though, all of
these are great pain killers for a toothache and require no
prescription.
There are even toothpastes designed for those with sensitive
teeth and it is recommendable that you invest in products like
these as brushing can be painful when you have a toothache –
but considering that toothache might be the result of a cavity,
you don’t want to neglect your hygiene! Warm saltwater is also
a less evasive way to keep your mouth nice and clean.
